I have a tale to tell you.
My husband Ron and I went to Gwynedd for a holiday many many years ago. Whilst there we read in one of the local newspapers about a phone box that was never used and was going to be removed. The villagers were very upset and were totally against it as there was not another one for miles,
We decided that we would go and use it. So off we went to find it,
After much searching and getting lost several times, no sat navs in those days!! we finally found it and used it to make many phone calls, to each of our four children, my mother, my sister, my brother, our neighbours and lots of our friends. We were there for a long time, spending quite a great deal of money because in those days we paid by the minute!
We hoped against all odds that the villages would be able to keep their telephone box but we never knew if they had been allowed for it to stay there. Well now I know it did stay.
I wonder if our many phone calls helped.
