Firstly, thank you for the invaluable resource that you provide with your K6 Project page. Your page has been an invaluable reference while I restored the K6 Telephone in Fenwick, Ayrshire over the last year.
You photographed it about 1 month before the community secured funding to restore the box, so they act as a really good set of “before” photos.
I took the castings back to bare metal, before re-painting, and have also replaced all the glazing with toughened glass, as well as a few wood repairs to the door and renewing the shelving.
For your information the back panel has foundry marks from the Lion Foundry in Kirkintilloch. There was no date marking cast, which I understand to mean it is post 1948, and your information about crowns suggest it is pre 1953 as it is cast with a Tudor crown.
